We maintain the belief that children learn about their world through play and discovery. Our trained teachers provide a safe learning environment where children are given the opportunity to wonder and learn about the world they live in. They are encouraged to discover new things and to see where their imagination can take them through music, art, science, and play. There are no limits to what a young child can learn when they are encouraged to ask questions and to investigate their answers. Classes are available for children 2-5 years of age.

ABOUT US
Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church is your neighborhood church. Our goal is to glorify God by reaching out, nurturing, and serving with Christ's love. Our 10:15am Sunday service is inter-generational with a traditional feel in a laid-back community of friends. Beyond worship, more than three-quarters of our congregation is active in music ministries, mission service, or Bible study. Everyone stays following worship on the first Sunday of the month for
conversation and refreshments in downstairs hall. Sunset Hills is not just a place to worship Jesus - it's a place to be with His people.

Our pastor, the Rev. Dr. Laura Strauss, is leading us into the future with a focus on ministering to others, tangibly serving the world in Christ's image, and providing uplifting Sunday messages that impact our real day-to-day life. Her imagination, warmth, and love for the church are reflected in her leadership.
Founded in January 1940 by a group from the Mission Board of the Monongahela Presbytery, what began as a small gathering of the faithful in the basement gymnasium of the Julia Ward Howe School grew to become a self-sustaining church community with its own sanctuary in October of 1948. Through the generosity of its members, the vision of its leadership, and the support of the greater Presbyterian community, Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church and grounds was fully completed by 1959. Since that time, we have served the Sunset Hills neighborhood and Mt. Lebanon community for more than eighty years. We look forward to many more years to come.​
